The Grand Ole Opry, the Bluebird Cafe, wandering through the Ryman Auditorium… Memories of our trips to Nashville... Performing on stages that have seen some of the greatest musicians of all time... we all felt a little intimidated and extremely humbled... The crowds were wonderful… their acceptance and enthusiasm for this country band from Canada will always be one of my most treasured memories!
One of my first songs. My first recording. Done in a friends 8 track studio. I wrote the song, produced, played bass/electric guitar/keyboards and sang it
Love Affair
Before McQueen was formed I set up my own 16 track studio in Westbank, and was hired by CHBC to record/produce a song for the BC Music Project, written by Wanda Johnson, vocals by CaraLee.
Thinking ‘Bout You
I engineered/produced, played guitars and did backup vocals for it - a one song project turned into a whole series of songs and video shoots.
Leather Bound Book
- written/performed by Wanda Johnson was another. There were several, featuring talented Okanagan performers like Lee Dinwoodie, Larry Gadbois, and others.
After the project I recorded a couple of my own tunes. My fav is
Memories and Beer with Ron and Doug doing a great job of backup vocals (the three of us were future co-founders of McQueen). I produced, engineered, played guitars and sang lead vocal. Other backup by the very talented Thievin Brothers.
