The Grand Ole Opry, the Bluebird Cafe, wandering through the Ryman Auditorium… Memories of our trips to Nashville... Performing on stages that have seen some of the greatest musicians of all time... we all felt a little intimidated and extremely humbled... The crowds were wonderful… their acceptance and enthusiasm for this country band from Canada will always be one of my most treasured memories!
While McQueen was in very formative stages Ron and I worked as a duo and I was experimenting with recording using only my home computer and a cheap mic. (my studio vocal mic had cost nearly $2000 and this one only cost $140 – it is the one I used on all future recordings done at home.)
Two Roses – Just me. I sequenced the back up tracks and did vocals.

One night while we were playing at the Vernon Lodge I was approached by a man who was writing a book about a Canadian bush pilot legend and wondered if we would be interested in writing a song to release at the same time. I spent that break learning about William Floyd Sheldon Luck http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/eppp-archive/100/200/301/ic/can_digital_collections/aviation/m099.htm.
I wrote Flying during the next 15 minute break and Ron and I recorded it the next day.
